| | | | | | | | Project Description : * Software Design - Understand & apply best practices in design methodology. Make use of proper techniques for concurrency, event handling, distribution of components, exception handling, etc. Make use of common design patterns & formal design methodologies/notations such as UML. * Software Construction - Understand construction fundamentals; minimize complexity, anticipate change, plan for verification. Make appropriate use of planning, modeling, reuse, & measurement. * Architecture - Provide experience in partitioning software products into distinct components to meet business goals such as customer usability, component reusability, consistency, extensibility & maintainability. Define trade-offs between approaches & turn into strategies that guide design/implementation by development team. * Reviews & Inspections - Knowledge & use of formal inspection methods. Participate in design reviews & identify design best practices. * Requirements Analysis - Understand fundamentals of requirements analysis & elaboration of system requirements to software requirements. Provide feedback in areas such as completeness, practicality, measurability & testability. * Task Estimation - Prepare accurate schedules for project activities. Understand estimation methods such as function point, three point analysis, & task breakdown based on historical models. * Risk Management - Understand fundamentals of risk management & mitigation strategies. * Software Configuration Management (SCM) - Understand SCM process as it relates to shared software components. * Development Testing - Understand the role of testing throughout project life cycle. Create & execute software test plans at appropriate times in the development cycle. * Quality - Knowledge & use methodologies that promote creation of quality software such as CMM, CMMI & Six Sigma. Required Skills & Experience: * Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Eng., Electrical Eng. or related discipline required * 4 years of developing software using object-oriented design & implementation * 4 years of web browser based UI development experience * Experience with Javascripts & Javascript frameworks, e.g. Dojo * Experience with developing embedded applications a plus * Web Development - CSS, HTML, XML/XSLT * User Interface Design - User centered design, GUI & web page design, prototyping, usability testing * Object Oriented Methodologies - OOA, OOD, OOP, Design Patterns | | | |
