I hope everyone had a great Earth Day!
This month is the first year anniversary of the official formation of PBJFlorida. I wish to thank all of you for making it a glorious year. We helped people, forged alliances, built networks, and created new friendships. When you help one another, you help yourself. Peace is not easy. It requires justice. Justice must be distributive and not retributive.
With this said, we are planning some changes that we hope you will like. We will be sharing more poetry, music, film, and art on the list serv. With CPA's help, we will also be updating our website and facebook to be more interactive, educational, and entertaining. Let's have some fun while we work! PBJFlorida Radio will start back up this summer. Thanks to Maddie, CPA Radio will also begin as a spin off to PBJFlorida Radio. Our PBJFlorida reading circle will begin this summer, again thanks to Maddie's efforts.
My hope is to strengthen the working alliances we have with CPA, YAYA, FNB, UMF, FOCUS, Florida Abolitionist, and Amnesty International. UMF's Hunger Team needs help to feed homeless families in Sanford in a healthy manner. Let's jump on board to help with food sharing.
I hope that we can use our collective imaginations and creativity to work with one another to bring about a consistent and successful effort to help immigrants, the working poor, the homeless, the persecuted, human trafficking, and modern-day slavery in Central Florida - without losing our separate organizational identities. Your ideas and comments are always welcome!
I also hope that we can all meet this summer for a PBJFlorida get together, for pick nick and/ or dinner.
Again, I thank you my dear friends for all that you do on an individual basis, within your own organizations, and in supporting PBJFlorida.
Namaste, Shalom, Salaam, Paz, Pax, Peace!
