Position : Senior Business Analyst
Location : Washington , DC
Duration : 6-month+ contract.

Senior Business Analyst to elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage the real needs of the project stakeholders, including customers and end users; to serve as the conduit between the customer community and the solution design team including a solutions architect and technical analyst; work collaboratively administrative, academic, marketing and outreach partners to understand their business requirements and process; translate findings to software requirements. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
·Enterprise level business analysis- Finding solutions for the Organization as a whole and mapping individual line of business process to ensure academic initiative alignment. As a senior level responsibility, enterprise analysis can also take the form of planning and scoping several inter-related initiatives and helping senior-level business stakeholders to include leading, developing, maintaining requirements matrix for enterprise level initiatives.
·Perform business analyst lead tasks by mentoring other analyst and mapping out best practices, templates and training avenues for them. Work as a liaison among stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of an organization or a line of business, and recommend solutions that enable departments to achieve its goals. Work on line of business process improvements and operational procedures, or business process.
·Establish Business Analysis as a practice; develop best practice guide and templates to set a Solutions Design Standard. Provide technology insight or process consulting services to Client line of business. Responsible for maintaining a deep awareness of how a business operation works and helping the stakeholders explore technology possibilities to more effectively execute on their roles.
·Elicit requirements using various methods, such as interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, story boards, brainstorming sessions, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios. Maintain requirements traceability matrix. Work collaboratively with technical teams, Project managers and customers.
·Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Required education and experience:Bachelor's degreein business, computer science, information technology or closely related field. Minimum three to five (3-5) years of relevant work experience in business analysis and requirements gathering; a solid understanding of structured system development methodologies and software development life cycle; experience analyzing COTS products and mapping requirements to COTS products and assessing feasibility; valid driver's license required.
Preferred experience: Experience with MS Office Suite to include MS Project, Visio, and PowerPoint platform; skills in analysis, business analysis, problem solving, creative thinking, organizational skills, and efficient time management.; CBAP certification, experience with modeling languages like UML and use of BA tools like RequisitePro, Optimal Trace, Analyst Pro etc.
